One day, we were working on the letter G. I asked the students to think of some words that started with the letter G as in “goat”. They came up with the following: God, going, Go TV, glory, girl, getting, green, game. I wrote each word on the board. We took turns reading the list of words. At the end of class I found a young boy writing something on his hand. I asked him to show me his hand. “I want to study the words at home Teacher”, he said. He had written the list on his hand with a pen.
Lack of resources did not hinder his motivation to learn.
